Azure’s Cosmos DB is an intriguing service layer that wraps a range of related database services.
One of those services is the creation of databases configured to provide tables, and for a while it has been possible to update the throughput of these databases using GorillaStack.
Now you can also update the throughput of SQL databases on Cosmos that have containers.
The process couldn’t be more simple. Just apply tags to your Cosmos database accounts so they can be targeted in GorillaStack. Then, in the GorillaStack rule, select a tag group that targets your accounts, and either set a throughput between 400 and 1,000,000 inclusive or choose to restore containers in your database accounts to throughput settings that GorillaStack has remembered from a prior execution.
